February has historically been a transition month for most sales organizations mainly because of their preconceived false beliefs about people, money and holidays.
Let me show you the falsity
of that thinking with a story a conversation I had with a fellow contractor one
day the conversation went something like this.
This conversation took place the week before thanksgiving.
OC . How is business
Me. Awesome I am slammed with
business, how about you?
OC . Man it’s really slow
ME: Why is that do you think?
OC. Its Thanksgiving no one is spending any money.
Me: Can I ask you a question?
OC: Sure
Me : Why is it that my customers
are spending money and yours aren’t?
With the deer in the headlights look I
answered the question for him.
1. I expect my customers to
spend money with me and I expect them to spend a lot of money all year long.
2. The hard and fast truth of the matter is people are
going to spend money when they want to spend money on things they want and if
they can’t afford it they will figure out how to get it and the time of year has nothing to do with it.
Have you fallen into this trap?
If you have put it into your plan today.
